Indoor Recreation Programs 2019

We have a fit for you and your family!  Indoor programs are held at the Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park (532 N. Cannon Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21740) unless otherwise noted in program description. Enroll online by clicking on the four-digit activity number listed below; hyperlinks take you to ActiveNet, our secure online registration portal. Registration is required for all series and one-day activities at least 24 hours in advance of program start date unless noted in program description; programs must meet minimum enrollment levels. Walk With Ease

Developed for people living with arthritis who want to be more physically active, this program meets 3x each week to encourage, support and facilitate walking with ease. Prerequisite is ability to be on your feet for at least 10 minutes without increased pain or assistance. Led by Arthritis Foundation certified instructor from Meritus Health at the Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park. Free/ 6-weeks. 
Living Well With Diabetes 
Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Self-management workshop for individuals with diabetes or caretakers of loved ones with diabetes. Learn techniques to deal with symptoms, fatigue, pain, blood sugar, stress, emotions, healthy eating, and exercise for maintaining proper strength and endurance. Program by Meritus Health at the Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park. Free/ 6-weeks.

Free Blood Pressure Screening 
Thursdays, 9am-11am
Starts April 4
(will be held every week throughout the season)
Stop by to have your blood pressure taken at our golf course by a registered nurse. Walk-ins welcome; no reservation needed. The Greens at Hamilton Run is located on the corner of the Dual Highway and Cleveland Avenue.

Hoolah Hoop Camp w/ Soolah Hoops
Monday- Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Activity #6416)
Learn warm-up practices, basics of hooping, games and tricks. Make your own Hoolah Hoop and learn to twirl & toss. Hoop making materials included. Bring a snack and water bottle to the Fit Room at Fairgrounds Park. Wear comfortable clothes. $150/ 5 days.

This program consists of mental (conflict resolution) and physical practices (self-defense skills) to gain experience in order to make goof decisions when being confronted by an aggressor. AntiGravity Fitness Fundamentals
AntiGravity is an inspired mode of fitness centered around suspended hammocks. This exercise series is built on an art form to connect mind and body, take tension away, challenge you, and create a life that is lighter. Discover the benefits of decompression from inverting the body, building strength, conditioning, and advancing agility and coordination, as well as deep stretching and massage of muscles, tissue, and the body's spirit! A new program led by Lauren Alford, certified AntiGravity instructor and personal trainer. Ages 18 & up.

Belly Dance Technique

Belly Dancing is a great way to have fun, meet new people, and discover new muscles! This class will teach dance posture, isolations, shimmies, and traveling steps all combined into a short choreography. Belly dance inproves flexibility and is gentle on the knees and ankles, making it appropriate for individuals of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels.
