Our System

The Wastewater Process
Wastewater from the collection system enters the wastewater treatment plant at the headworks and flows by gravity to the primary clarifiers. The objective of primary treatment is to separate settleable and floatable materials in the waste stream. Primary treatment removes approximately 60% of the suspended solids and 30% of the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in the influent flow. From the primary clarifiers, the effluent is pumped to the BNR reactor basins.
