This program is designed to give residents of the City of Hagerstown an inexpensive and convenient option to dispose of bulky items otherwise not being picked up by regular trash service. The bulk trash collections are made on the first (1st) and third (3rd) Wednesday of every month.
All items must be placed by the sidewalk no later than 7:00 am on the scheduled day of collection but no earlier than 4:00 pm the evening prior to the collection. Collection will take place between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm the day of.
Items containing freon (refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner) are an additional $25.00 each.
Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic.
Tires $7.50 fee each for 22" or less, $15 each for over 22"
Items collected: Furniture, appliances, scrap metal, small amounts of wood, paneling and drywall, water heaters.
Items not collected: Batteries, paint, pesticides, automotive parts, items containing gasoline, oil or propane, household trash or yard waste.
Cost: The cost is $25.00 per scoop, which is the bucket of a front end loader (an area approximately 2 feet wide x 2 feet high x 7 feet long).
