- There can be only one Master Electrician per company
- There can be only one Restricted Master Electrician per company
- Any journeyman or apprentice registration holders employed by your company must also be registered with the City of Hagerstown (applications for each registration holder are required).
- All Journeyman and Apprentices must be working under the direction of a Master Electrician "insured to work" by the State of Maryland
- Licenses shall run biennially and expire December 31 of the even calendar year.
- A copy of the Master’s or Restricted Master’s current State of Maryland or Washington County Restricted Master Electrical License
- A certificate of insurance naming the City of Hagerstown as certificate holder with general liability insurance in the amount of at least $300,000 and property damage insurance in the amount of at least $100,000.
- A photo I.D. (current valid driver’s license or other photo identification)
- Signed statement page (if not signed in our office, then signature must be notarized)
- Payment of fee – Fees shall not be pro-rated.
Master Electrician
- $150 for New Applications or registration lapsed more than 30 days
- $125 for Renewal Applications less than 30 days expired

- $95 for New Journeyman or registration lapsed more than 30 days
- $70 for Renewal Journeyman registrations less than 30 days expired
Apprentice Electrician
- $85 for New Apprentice or registration lapsed more than 30 days
- $60 for Renewal Apprentice registration less than 30 days expired
