Historic District Commission
Board Overview:
The Hagerstown Historic District Commission is responsible for guiding the City's historic districts and on landmark properties. The Commission members are appointed by the Mayor & City Council for three year terms. All members must demonstrate special interest in historic preservation and/or specific knowledge or professional/academic training in fields such as history, architecture, architectural history, planning, archaeology, curation, conservation, landscape architecture, historic preservation, urban design or related disciplines.

The Historic District Commission meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 4:30 p.m

In response to the Mayor's declaration of a Civil Emergency and Phase Two re-opening, the Historic District Commission has resumed meetings in-person in the Council Chamber with masks and social distancing required.
The Zoom participation and YouTube viewing options are still available. If Zoom participation is desired, meeting participants will be provided with a specific meeting ID and password prior to the meeting. This meeting ID and password is required in order to join the meeting as a participant.
All meetings will be streamed live through PCAD Hagerstown's Facebook and YouTube accounts. All members of the public are welcome to view meetings through these platforms.
