Work crews from Greenridge Contractors are replacing a drainage culvert under Key Street at City Park. Due to the location of the culvert and the excavation required to complete the work, the street must be closed to traffic. Therefore, beginning on the morning of October 21st, Key Street will be closed daily to all traffic between Park Circle and Museum Drive. Motorists will be forced to use the southern City Park entrance to access the Museum of Fine Arts and other destinations within City Park. It is anticipated that the work each day will be completed by 4:00 PM, at which time the street will be reopened to traffic. It is anticipated that this closure will be repeated each weekday for approximately three weeks.
Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through this section of Key Street while the work is being performed.
Please contact the Department of Parks & Engineering at 301-739-8577 extension 125 if there are any questions regarding this advisory.
