F & M Trust Finds Downtown Hagerstown to be Perfect Fit

The City of Hagerstown welcomes F & M Trust to 83 W. Washington Street.  The bank’s official grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration took place on September 19 and was attended by City of Hagerstown Mayor Emily Keller, members of the Board of Washington County Commissioners, Washington County Chamber of Commerce CEO/President Paul Frey, members of both the City’s Department of Community & Economic Development team and the County’s Business Development team, F & M Trust Hagerstown/Washington County Advisory Board members Greg Snook and Paul Crampton, many local investors, business and community partners, Chamber members, F & M Trust senior leadership, regional sales managers, local office staff, and Board members of Franklin Financial Services Corporation (the bank’s holding company).  The event was catered by Leiter’s Fine Catering.

F & M Trust originally opened its doors in downtown Chambersburg in 1906 and has been doing business in Franklin County, PA ever since.  While opening its first office in Maryland was a long time coming, it was fueled by two things:  the community banking void F & M Trust identified in Hagerstown—and is confident it can fill—and the bank’s desire to become a member of the strong, vibrant business community that exists downtown.

Tim Henry, President and CEO of F & M Trust, expresses it this way:  “I know what’s in this community.  I know the goodness and the potential that’s here and we want to be part of that and everything that is happening downtown,” Henry said.  The banking model that we subscribe to is a good fit for communities like Hagerstown.   It’s a model that pays attention to all the different layers of fabric in a community.”

This new Hagerstown location demonstrates F & M Trust’s commitment to meeting the financial needs of city and county residents alike by offering them full-service banking with a lobby and pod for walk-in customers, along with commercial, mortgage, investment and trust services, all while employing real-time digital tools to safeguard against fraud.
