Outdoor movies and concerts at the Peter Buys Band Shell return to Hagerstown City Park this summer.
The outdoor movies will be shown on a giant inflatable screen set up on the band shell stage. All movies will start at dusk (around 8:30-8:45pm). Movie-goers are encouraged to arrive early, as thanks to sponsorship from US Cellular, free popcorn will be provided to the first 50 attendees to visit the City Park concession stand and pre-movie entertainment will begin at 7pm. The outdoor movie schedule is as follows:
In the event of inclement weather, a decision to postpone to the rain date will be made and posted by 4pm the day the movie is scheduled. More information is available online at www.hagerstownmd.org/outdoormovies.
Additionally, the annual City Park Concert Series (formerly Music by the Lake), in partnership with the Washington County Arts Council, will feature outstanding local and regional bands performing live on Saturday evenings from June 19-July 31. Concerts will start an hour earlier this year, at 6pm. The free concert schedule is accessible by visiting www.washingtoncountyarts.com and is as follows:
Attendees are welcome to sit on the benches at the band shell or bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to spread out on the grass. Concessions will be available for purchase from the concession stand, provided by Nena’s Curbside Café.
