Construction Advisory: Parking Lots to Rear of Maryland Theatre and BISFA

Beginning the week of June 7th, work crews from Building Systems will start construction of Phase II of the Hagerstown Cultural Trail and the Urban Improvement Project plaza. The work area for this project includes the west side of the District Court building, the parking lots to the rear of the Maryland Theatre and the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, and Rochester Place out to Washington Street. During construction, traffic through the work area and Rochester Place may be restricted in order to provide space for the contractor to complete the work; motorists should obey posted traffic control signs. Pedestrians will be able to access the local restaurants and businesses. The work is expected to extend through the summer, with completion scheduled for September.

Emergency vehicles will be able to reach the rear of the Maryland Theatre and the Barbara Ingram School for service calls, but will be unable to pass through other portions of the work area depending upon the current phase of construction.

Please contact the Department of Parks & Engineering at 301-739-8577 extension 125 if there are any questions regarding this advisory.
