Construction Advisory: Wesel Blvd. Closure

As part of the ongoing NorthPoint Development construction along Wesel Blvd., the City plans to reconstruct the entire length of the roadway.  In order to speed the construction and protect the safety of drivers in this corridor, the City will allow the contractor (C. William Hetzer, Inc.) to close a portion of the road to traffic.  Therefore, beginning on or about Monday, September 21st, Wesel Blvd. will be closed to through traffic between Burhans Blvd. and the Wesel Storage Center.  Traffic will still be able to access all businesses from the Halfway Blvd. end of Wesel Blvd., but traffic will not be able to pass on through to Burhans Blvd.  A detour route will be posted to direct traffic around the closure.  Motorists approaching the area will encounter cones, barricades, detour signs, and other traffic control devices.  It is anticipated that this section of Wesel Blvd. will remain closed to through traffic until mid-November.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass this section of Wesel Blvd. while the closure is in effect, but will be able to respond to service calls within the closed section of the roadway.

Please contact the Department of Parks & Engineering at 301-739-8577 extension 125 if there are any questions regarding this advisory.
