2nd Annual Crime Victim Rights Awareness Color Splash Walk
Friday, May 5, 2023
This event brings awareness about various types of crime victims, to acknowledge the rights of victims, and to demonstrate as a community that no victim fights alone, no surviving family of a victim fights alone.
Your community is fighting with you, alongside you, supporting you.
Come as an individual, gather a team of friends or staff members and come join together as a community for this event.
- Wear a white shirt so the colors pop that day, and bring sunglasses or something to protect your eyes.
- Feel free to make signs or posters representing crime victim awareness to carry along with you through the walk if you choose.
- Feel free to dress up creatively or create a team outfit for the event.
(there will be winners announced for most creative group and individual)
**We do ask that any signs or posters not display profanity, derogatory language or statements, and not display offensive or sexual images. Additionally, clothing/fun outfits for that day must not expose intimate body areas.**
The colors used for this walk represent different crime victims.
- Blue – Child Abuse, Purple – Domestic Violence,
- Red –Substance Abuse,
- Orange – Gun Violence,
- Teal – Sexual Assault/Sexual Abuse,
- Green – Mental Health/Mental Illness
