Engine Room Art Space is a program of Main Street Hagerstown presented by the City of Hagerstown's Department of Community and Economic Development. The gallery is a positive space for artists and community to talk, make connections, get inspired, learn and gain experience.
The City of Hagerstown purchased the building that houses the gallery in September 2011. The property has since been fully renovated to create modern, open live/work spaces for four local artists who live on the upper floors and cooperatively support the Engine Room Art Space. One of those artists, Emily Jones, works as the gallery coordinator.
